It highlights the risks to children of using over-the-counter insecticidal lotions to treat headlice infections. And evaluates alternative, non-toxic remedies.

It was commissioned to provide information to parents worried by a series of national newspaper stories with headlines such as 'Headlice shampoo linked to leukaemia'.
